You could have been excused for thinking you had spots in your eyes at Caledonian Primary School last week when its youngest pupils celebrated their first 101 days at school with a 101 Dalmatians-themed celebration.

Excited little learners took part in activities including crown-making, going on a hunt for 101 bones in the schoolyard, making black and white slime and cooking dalmatian coloured biscuits.
Teacher Suzanne O'Brien said it was particularly important to mark milestones and have some fun during these uncertain times.
"Some of these kids have missed two of their birthdays and all sorts of family gatherings so to be able to mark this and make fun memories is important make some important," said teacher Suzanne O'Brien.

Ms O'Brien said she was proud of the educational and other achievements of all of the preps during their roller-coaster first year of school.
"Some skills, for example cooking or money and other life skills I think they are fare more developed in those areas than others have been," she said.
