As I escaped our overrun trench I wondered where I should go, the only place left was the German's trench, so I left for it.
As I got to the German's trench, I was surrounded by the unearthly mourns of the living dead as they approached me from the trenches. As they slowly marched towards me, I heard a scream, and my only option was to move in this direction otherwise I was to become a steak dinner for the dead.
The screaming got louder and louder as I approached, but suddenly from behind me I felt a jab and it was the most horrific looking dead I had ever seen. I didn't feel I'd look good in that skin, so I reached for my trusty wooden trench mace, and, in two seconds the dead's head was a ball of mash potato.
More dead started to approach from the noise, and I had to start running through the trenches before whomever was screaming stopped and I wouldn't know where to go and would become surrounded by the maze of the trenches.
I finally found the man who was screaming. He made it short and started speaking to me in English that the only way to stop the gas from destroying humankind was in the city where it was being produced. He then died with a bloom of toxic gas appearing from his mouth.
As I left the gas that was now the sky turned blood red, so I knew I had to hurry before any chance was gone.
