Sam Crea and Michael Culliver have joined an already star-studded Cobras list for the 2022 season.

Crea, equally at home in the forward line or midfield, moves from Glen Orden where he was a senior premiership player, captain, club best-and-fairest and was once named in the WRFL Divsion 2 team of the year.

Culliver joins from Williamstown CWYS, where he spent 2021 playing in the VAFA Premier B competition.

Previously, he captained Westbourne in VAFA Division 3 and represented the league on an international rules tour to Ireland.

He also played for the VAFA B-D4 rep side in a game against the Western Australian Amateur Football League.

The pair join Vic Metro representative and former Melton South and Ballarat tall Rex Hickman in signing for the Cobras this off-season.

The trio's signings, along with the re-commitment of a core group of players, firms playing-coach Tom German's side as one of next season's top contenders.

The Cobras dropped from third to seventh on the last day of the 2021 season, missing a finals spot by just 2.7 per cent.

Captain Jake Owen has already re-signed after a 27-goal campaign that saw him earn a place in the BFNL team of the year.

However, he'll no longer line up alongside younger brother Jaidyn Owen, who has returned to his former club Gisborne after just one season with the Cobras.

Jaidyn Owen kicked six goals from four games playing along the forward line.

Other Cobras to re-commit for 2022 include interleague representative Aaron Willitts, vice-captain Harrison King, brothers Nick and Ryley Stuhldreier and 2016 premiership captain Tyson Shea.
