Heinz Law made the contribution as a Community Impact Partner for the Ballarat Foundation's big annual community event.
A lot of families are doing it tough.
- Andrew Faull, Heinz Law
Firm principal Andrew Faull said he was confident Run For A Cause would make a big difference to the community, so wanted to get behind it.
"We engage with every part of our community every day. With that we get a really deep understanding of our community and with that is a responsibility," he said.
"The last 18 months have been a real challenge. There is no doubt that Ballarat is really resilient, but a lot of families are doing it tough."
Ballarat Foundation officially launched Run For A Cause on Monday and registrations are now open.
Residents are encouraged to sign up, set their goals and raise funds while getting active throughout November as part of the virtual event.
The Ballarat Foundation has set a fundraising goal of $50,000 to meet the need for back to school vouchers in the community.
Back to school vouchers are supplied to schools who distribute them to families in need to purchase school books, stationery, uniforms, shoes and other items.
"Run For A Cause will be a really timely opportunity for the Ballarat community to get together and make a real difference for these kids as they get ready to pack their bags and get back to school next year," Mr Faull said.
"With kids confined to homeschooling this year and the hardships and challenges that has brought about, anything that can give some assistance to families and make the kids better equipped to get back to school is a really good thing for our community to do.
"I really urge everybody to get right behind it. It is a cause that has a direct benefit to those who really need it most."
Ballarat Foundation chief executive Andrew Eales said it was fantastic to have community-minded organisations like Heinz Law contributing to this year's run.
"Heinz's contribution will mean at least another 200 children in the Ballarat region can buy essential items to support their education," he said.
"With Heinz providing $10,000 to Run For A Cause, it gives us a great kickstart to this year's event which has a goal of giving 1000 children a helping hand through Back to School vouchers."
Mr Faull and the Heinz Law team will be singing up for Run For A Cause and getting active in Ballarat throughout November to support the cause.
