Paul Naylor, 46, stole the car from a Wendouree property in January 2020 and used it to speed in Bendigo in February 2020.
Police found he was driving more than 100km/h in a 60km/h zone with methamphetamine in his system, while unlicensed and with fraudulent number plates.
Naylor was also found guilty after a contested hearing of possessing cannabis and the drug Lyrica while on bail and supplying the drug cannabis to a child.
Magistrate Letizia Torres sentenced Naylor to 192 days imprisonment, time already served, and he was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
He will also be required to complete a community corrections order for eight months with supervision, drug treatment and programs.
"I know you spent the best part of a year in jail and I hope this conduct from the past is over," she said.
"You actually look like a different man today. I hope you can keep the gains you have made in custody and use that as a springboard for leading a more positive life.
"Stay away from drugs, and if you don't have a licence you can't drive. Wait out the time because you are just going to end up in jail for longer and longer periods of time."
