It is the game that Golden Point has been waiting for since last season's grand final defeat and one it would have had penciled in as soon as the fixture was released.

Redemption is what the Pointies seek, following Darley's triumph this past March.

The two sides come into the clash in very different form, however, after last weekend's round one action.
Darley was untouchable against Brown Hill, bowling the Bulls out for a mere 28 runs thanks to Madushanka Ekanayaka's ridiculous figures of 9-15 from 7.1 overs.
The Lions proceeded to make 1-29 in just 3.4 overs to begin their premiership defence in dominant fashion.
Golden Point certainly were not embarrassed by Wendouree, but it went down nonetheless and need to respond this weekend.
Wendouree dominated with the bat, Cole Roscholler's 113 runs leading the Red Caps to 3-254 from their 44 overs before rain ended their innings.
In reply, Golden Point posted 9-138 with a high score of 30 not out from Andrew Warrick.
Ballarat-Redan and North Ballarat will renew its rivalry from last season with a clash at Alfredton.
The Roosters were superb against Mt Clear in round one, strongly led by Leigh Lorenzen's 89.
Ballarat-Redan fell to a new-look Napoleons-Sebastopol despite a knock of 65 from Zac Jenkins and need to bounce back.
Naps-Sebas will test its new side against perennial contenders Wendouree.
Viraj Pushpakumara, who top-scored for the side with 74 last week, will go head-to-head with Red Caps opener Cole Roscholler, who posted 113.
Brown Hill will look to respond from last week's performance when it takes on an improved Buninyong side at Western Oval.
It can't get any worse than round one for the Bulls, meaning a more positive performance should be on the horizon.
For Buninyong, a repeat of round one's effort against a strong East Ballarat side should hold it in a good position.
There is still some room for improvement in the batting sector after the side posted 149 last week.
However, it's bowling was superb, dismissing the Hawks for 71 in just 26 overs.
East Ballarat and Mt Clear, two of the traditionally strong sides of the competition, will aim to avoid an 0-2 start when they face each other at Russell Square.
A more competitive score will help the Hawks after a positive bowling display against Buninyong.
For the Mounties, their score of 200 in round one was a positive start, but if they can bowl a bit tighter, they will be a strong winning chance.
