A confirmed COVID case attended the Year 12 graduation at the Regent Cinemas on Thursday, November 25.
As a result, everyone who attended that event has been ordered into isolation until they receive a negative result.
This includes all staff who attended the graduation, resulting in a shortage of teachers.
As a result, year 10s at Loreto will learn from home on Thursday, while years 7-9 will continue to operate in the classroom.
The school is aiming for year 10s to return to onsite learning from Friday.
The case follows a COVID confirmation at Ballarat Clarendon College, which was confirmed on Wednesday.
Ballarat Health Services also expressed its concern on Wednesday about a planned protest in Ballarat on Sunday, which it fears could become a super-spreader event.
