A man who allegedly pointed a gun at a university security guard has been arrested in Melbourne.

Police were called to Swinburne University's Croydon campus, in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, just before 10.30am on Tuesday.
Specialist police along with uniformed officers quickly responded and cordoned off the area, arresting the man shortly after.
He was arrested without incident, no one was injured and police are not searching for anyone else in relation to the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
