You'll see them sitting on corners along the epic road race track, keeping cars and dogs off the course; you'll see them holding the rope to let pedestrians cross Warrenheip Street after cyclists have passed - they're out there rain, hail, or shine, as Ballarat's certainly experienced in the last few RoadNats.
Once again, the RoadRAGE crew - a youth group focused on reducing greenhouse emissions, and exploring new engineering projects - will be helping out at the event, and they're putting out the call to find some new volunteers.
RoadRAGE's Tony Davidson said RoadNats organisers asked the group to help find more volunteers as the event approached so everything can run smoothly.
"The roles that volunteers can do are suitable for people of any age 14 and above - some are very active and busy, some are relaxed and can be done by sitting in a camp chair reading a good book," he said.
"We can only supply about half the volunteers needed, we're asking anyone interested in cycling or helping the community to come out."
Shifts can be flexible across each race day, with only a couple of hours needed, he added.
"Our kids will be there from 5am to 7pm all day everyday, people who turn up for a couple of hours can give them a break," he said.
"Some people will say 'I can do two hours but not three', so basically the more time people can give, the better off we are."
