From Saturday, January 8 and Sunday, January 9, from the first service until 7pm, coaches will run from Melton to Ballarat, and from Melton to Ararat and Maryborough.
Night works continue on Monday, January 10, and Tuesday, January 11, with coaches replacing trains between Southern Cross and Ballarat and Wendoure for the entire journey from 8pm.
According to V/Line, passengers should allow an extra 45 minutes for their journey, though a mix of express and stopping all stations coaches will be available.

Passengers with accessibility needs are urged to phone 1800 800 007 before travelling.
Meanwhile, major works are set to ramp up on the West Gate Freeway from January 11, which will involve closing a major off-ramp for Ballarat commuters from Melbourne.
The outbound M80 Western Ring Road turn off - after the West Gate Bridge, but before the Western Freeway - will be closed from January 11 until February 28.
Detours will be in place but drivers should expect at least a 40 minute delay through the summer.
The Princes Freeway turnoff from the M80, towards Geelong, will also be closed, as well as the Williamstown Road ramps.
The works are for the West Gate Tunnel and freeway widening, which is expected to be finished in 2025.
