CANADA has become an even more enticing destination for Queensland travellers thanks to Air Canada launching its first non-stop flights between Brisbane and Vancouver in June. And with the Aussie dollar on par with the Canadian dollar, it makes good sense to travel now. When its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights take to the skies in June, Air Canada will be the only airline offering year-round, non-stop services between Canada and Queensland. Air Canada general manager Australia and New Zealand Paul McLean said the flights were timed to optimise connectivity to and from the airline's extensive North American network through its Vancouver hub. "Air Canada's new service doesn't simply offer Queenslanders a much-needed direct route to British Columbia, it provides a convenient way to explore more than 60 Canadian cities and 52 destinations across the United States," he said. The Dreamliner aircraft promises a great in-flight experience, with the option of a premium economy cabin for the first time. This class offers expanded legroom and recline, wider seats, premium meals, complimentary bar service and priority check-in and baggage delivery. Business class passengers can relax in Air Canada's next generation lie-flat international business class product, featuring an adjustable pneumatic cushion headrest, an 18-inch personal entertainment screen and noise-cancelling headsets. Canada and Alaska Specialist Holidays has a fly/cruise package that includes an Alaskan cruise on Holland America. It is priced from $3799 per person twin share, which includes a bonus two nights in Vancouver and all air and port taxes. The offer is valid until May 31 or until sold out.
