Both boys impressed at the recent trials held in Bendigo, in combination with strong Football Integration Development Association seasons – the Bulldogs paired will be heading to Tasmania in June.
The 16-man side will play in Launceston from June 18-23 and both boys are pumped for the championships. For Hunter, he has made the side the past two years and captained it last year. But for Reeves, this is reward for a lot of hard work and something he has been hoping to do for much of his 11-year career in the FIDA competition.
“It’s a very good felling, I’ve tried and tried and tried over the years and I haven’t quite got there,” Reeves said.
“This year I’ve excelled at what I’ve been trying to do.”
Hunter is a polished midfielder while Reeves is a big-bodied utility. Team manager Tom McCarthy was proud of his players.
“It’s a really good effort for both boys to be selected,” McCarthy said.
