Coles has apologised after several of its supermarkets across Australia were forced to close because of a technical glitch.
A number of stores on Sunday morning posted notices on their doors about the outage.
Coles confirmed some "minor IT problems" had affected some supermarkets, "which were out of our team members' control", but all were now open and trading.
"We apologise for any inconvenience our customers experienced earlier this morning," Coles said in a statement.
"All Coles supermarkets are open and trading."
EARLIER 10.30am
People heading out for an early morning shop on Sunday were disappointed to find Coles supermarket stores in Ballarat shut.
A number of Coles stores around the country were forced to close due to a nationwide network error.
Registers at Coles in Ballarat Central were out of operation from around 6am to 10am.
The store has now been reopened and frustrated shoppers are back in the aisles.
The incident comes after Woolworths supermarkets were hit by a late afternoon technical glitch in April.
