The Ballarat Foundation is the latest organisation to cancel upcoming events, including the ever-popular 'Dancing with our Stars' showcase.
In a statement released by the foundation on Friday morning, interim Chief Executive Officer Andrew Eales thanked the community for its support during this difficult time.
The decision comes one day after Ballarat's first coronavirus case was confirmed.

"It is with regret that this week we have decided to cancel some of our major fundraising events including this year's Dancing with our Stars and our annual Administration Breakfast," the release read.
"The highly successful TAC L2P Driver Mentor Program will also be temporarily suspended and our Lydiard St office closed to the public. The Ballarat Reads Pop Up at Stockland Wendouree will also be suspended until further notice.
"With the health of our participants, staff and audiences our top priority, and given evolving government policies and uncertainty about the timeframe for restrictions on public connections, we believe these are the only responsible decisions we can make in the circumstances.
"Despite these difficult decisions, the Foundation continues to work in connecting and delivering outcomes for those in need and at risk in the Ballarat community."
In 2019, the Dancing with our Stars event raised over $112,000 for the Ballarat Foundation, exceeding the philanthropic organisation's fundraising goal.
