The upcoming campaign will mark the fourth season at the club for Short.
Court time was scarce for the youngster last season, but he made the most of his opportunities when presented.
Last December he hit the scoreboard for the first time in his NBL regular-season career, scoring five points against the Sydney Kings.
Prior to that, he scored 13 points in a preseason clash against the Lamelo Ball-led Illawarra Hawks in Ballarat.
A good showing this season could see him elevated to a full-time roster.
