Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives found the accused man about 130km east in Houston Court, Reservoir about 2pm on Friday.
A Victoria Police spokesman said the 26-year-old Lake Gardens man was in custody and assisting police with their inquiries.

THURSDAY: Police are hunting a Lake Gardens man following a serious assault in Delacombe this afternoon.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Jayde Higham over the incident, in which a man was stabbed in the chest.
Higham is Caucasian in appearance, about 183cm tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.
He is believed to be driving a white-coloured hatchback is known to frequent the Wendouree, Sebastopol, Delacombe and Bakery Hill areas.
The public has been warned not to approach him but to call Triple Zero (000).
Emergency services rushed to the house in Delacombe to reports a man had been stabbed about 12pm on Thursday.

Upon arrival at the Sutton Street address, police officers located a man in his 20s with stab wounds.
There was a heavy police presence in Sutton Street throughout the afternoon, as police worked to piece together what had occurred.
Uniformed police, detectives and crime scene investigators were all at the scene throughout the afternoon.
Police now believe the victim and the alleged offender are known to each other.
Paramedics transported the man to Ballarat Base Hospital.
No arrests have been made at this stage, with the police investigation ongoing.
