Sara Kennedy was the star of the day with bat, ball and in the field. She posted 57 runs from 90 balls and finished with astounding 5-2 bowling figures. She also managed to take a catch and complete a run out.
The Bolts posted 4-166 from their 36 overs thanks to Kennedy and 42 runs off 40 balls by Emily McNeight.
The total was defended superbly, the Bolts dismissing Melbourne for just 67 in 24.2 overs.
Nicole Edwards, McNeight, Annabelle Moloney and Charli McLennan were the other wicket takers, each claiming one each.
McNeight told The Courier it was satisfying to finally have the cup in their possession.
"It's so good, finally we get to hold the cup, it's just an awesome feeling, the girls have done so well," she said.
The game didn't start as Ballarat would have liked, star batsmen Nicole Edwards bowled for just six runs off six balls.
The Bolts found themselves 1-7 and signs not looking great early.
A 30-run partnership by Kennedy and Moloney got Ballarat back on track.
Moloney departed for 12, bringing McNeight to the crease. She was able to put on a 65-run partnership with Kennedy and the Bolts catapulted themselves to 3-102 once McNeight departed for 42.
McLennan and Megan O'Beirne were able to add 24 and 10 respectively to finish the innings strongly.
Similarly to Ballarat's innings, Melbourne was down a wicket early. McNeight dismissed opener Bella Poon for a duck, leaving Melbourne 1-4.
Moloney followed not long after, taking Brianna Herman's wicket and leaving Melbourne in panic stations at 2-6.
The Bolts proceeded to then take 4-0, Kennedy claiming three wickets and Edwards dismissing Odette Lopez LBW.
Melbourne crumpled to 6-19 and the game looked all but over. The situation was not helped when Jahnvi Tandon retired hurt on five.
A 31-run partnership by Isabelle Poole and Dani Norman gave Melbourne some form of life however, able to fight its way back to 6-50.
It was short lived though, Poole the next to go, bowled by Kennedy for one and leaving Melbourne 7-50.
Cressida McDermott suffered the same fate four balls later, gone for a duck. Sharon Baynes was dismissed for two and the previously retired Tandon tried to return but was run out.
