Dominic Green-Scott appeared at the Bail and Remand Court for a filing hearing on Tuesday night.
Appearing from Melbourne West Police Station wearing a blue t-shirt and shorts, the Brown Hill man did not make an application for bail.
It is alleged Green-Scott shot a 17-year-old male at Golden Point, before the teenager sought help from the APCO Service Station on Main Road about 4.15am last Thursday.
Since his arrest at a Wendouree home on Sunday night, Green-Scott had been under police guard in hospital receiving treatment for burns to his legs.
Charge sheets, seen by The Courier, show police have since charged him with three offences.
These include "intentionally causing serious injury to another person in circumstances of gross violence by having with and using an offensive weapon, namely a firearm" and being a prohibited person yet using and possessing a firearm.
His lawyer Amy Nolan told the court custodial arrangements should consider that Green-Scott is Aboriginal.
The burns to his legs also require ongoing treatment.
Police must serve a hand-up brief for the case by December.
He was remanded in custody to reappear for a committal case conference in February.
